"After the Class" 's real name......

I teased about it, so here's the story:

“After the Class” was perhaps one of my favorite color pencil drawings that I had made to date, and was always a big crowd pleaser. It in fact had just won a Best in Show award at a juried art show. I’ve always had people compliment me on it, and had quite a few express interests in purchasing it, but they never did. I always wondered why everyone seemed to gravitate towards the drawing but never actually purchase it, but I didn’t let that cross my mind too much; as I was more than happy to keep it (remember it was one of my favorites).

I received an email about a month ago that made me pause, it was from a very nice girl named Jackie who wanted to know where I took the photo I used for “After the Class”, because she was quite certain it was a photo of her old horse, Doubletrees Confederate Gray. How’s that for an early morning email? We figured out that it was indeed a drawing of her horse! Both of us couldn’t believe how she happened across my Facebook group and was able to recognize her old horse from a headshot drawing I did of him (how amazing is that!?).

I am more than ecstatic that she was able to purchase the drawing, because I cannot think of anyone else that should own it but her. And that puts to rest my questions of why this popular drawing of mine never was bought by anyone else. I miss that drawing, but know that no one loves it as much as her :o)

What a fantastic coincidence! I'll bet you are so pleased to be able to 're-unite' owner and horse once more. I'd be so happy it if where my horse and discovered it on the internet

that is such a cool story. the drawing was meant to go to Jackie all along, it just had to be the right time. just goes to show you how well you captured her horses traits in the drawing...

It was such a neat coincidence and yes, it seems that drawing was waiting for Jackie to find him :o)
